Hiroshima people's tribunal

From Kyodo News: A "people's tribunal" to try former U.S. President Harry S Truman and others involved in the development of and decisions to drop atomic bombs on Japan in 1945. The committee is comprised of about 30 academics, lawyers and civic group members.

Bottom line on this: who cares, but for those seeking legitimacy: any thoughts of trying Emperor Hirohito? No? Hmmm. What about General Hideki Tojo? No?

How about a little perspective then.

Hiroshima City submitted the following death toll to the UN in 1976: 140,000 +/-10k.
This was their estimate for December 1945. The US also did some bombing in Tokyo with 334 B-29s raided on the night of March 9-10. Over 100,000 people are estimated to have died in the "fire storm" that followed. Hiroshima: 140k, Tokyo: 100k

And, lets not forget the final important fact: invasion of Japan would have killed countless millions. Funny how you can start a war, your leaders will keep you in it even when all is lost, and yet you still blame your enemy for kicking your teeth in. Whatever.
